Have you ever tried to buy a flashlight?  You walk into a store (or shop online) and scan the myriad of choices: LED, krypton, xenon (this one sounds cool - the light beam must reach all the way to Mars), as well as cheap and expensive. But how do you know that the flashlight will shine as bright as you want? Or last long enough? You don’t. It’s been mostly trial and error for me.

In case you haven’t noticed, there’s a new parts washer in town. Traditionally, parts washers require the use of toxic solvents. Now, there is an alternative. It’s called bio-remediation. One of the new bio-remediation parts cleaning systems is called Bio-Circle®. The Bio-Circle solution uses living microorganisms to chomp on the oil and grease. The oil and grease are ingested and you are left with plain old water and CO².

The Top 10 OSHA Workplace Violations for 2009

1. Scaffolding โ€“ 9,093 violations
Scaffold accidents most often result from the planking or support giving way, or to the employee slipping or being struck by a falling object.

2. Fall Protection โ€“ 6,771 violations
Any time a worker is at a height of four feet or more, the worker is at risk and needs to be protected. Fall protection must be provided at four feet in general industry, five feet in maritime and six feet in construction.

3. Hazard Communication โ€“ 6,378 violations
